NAMAKARANAM
CEREMONY OF CONCEPTION
Namakaranam usually performed on the 11th or 12th day after birth, but can be held on any day between the 10th day and the child's first birthday. The ceremony involves bathing the baby, dressing them in new clothes, and announcing their name. The name is often written on a bronze plate filled with rice grains using a gold ring.
